Clothing inspection points and matters needing attention
1. Main points of clothing inspection
1) Appearance Inspection
The product on a flat surface, open all the packing materials and accessories solve all the buttons, snap button or zip, etc. The inspection was conducted in a position around the arm distance and checked in the order of top to bottom, left to right, front to back, and inside to outside (or clockwise inspection) to ensure that all parts of the tested product are checked.
Check each product according to customer requirement, customer approval sample or reference sample, product technical data, color standard, picture, etc
2) Inspection of overall appearance
Check whether the product is identical in style, size, material, design, pattern and color. Whether there are smudges, oil stains or foreign bodies.
Check whether each piece of the complete set of products is similar in appearance and symmetrical. Accessories or accessories on the product should also be inspected together
3) Workmanship inspection
Inspecting all aspects of the production process, such as sewing or stitching,embroidery, printing, pressing, etc. Accessories or accessories on the product should also be inspected
4) Color checking
Checking color from different parts of the product, off color, color fade, surface quality and finishing, etc,. Checking whether the production and customer approval sample or reference sample is consistent, seeing if there are any problems or fabric defects (such as elastic denim fabric, whether to have broken phenomenon), between the same style and color of the product. The same inspection procedure should be followed for accessories and decorations in bulk. If suspect product have off color, the product itself and the approval sample, where possible, should be in the light box to confirm the color (the first illuminant D65), if there are no light box, the color checking should be conducted under the room light or sunlight, conditions for evaluation of color and color pictures should be indicated in the report.
5) Trademark/printing/marking checking
Check the logo/hangtag on the designated area and check that it is fixed in the specified manner.
Check and record all labels on the product. If possible, take photos of all trademarks and place them in the inspection report.
6) Feel and Touch
-Check whether the feel or touch of fabric or other material is the same as customer's approval sample.
-Check accessories and decorations
-Check the number, style, size, pattern, color and attachment method of accessories, as well as their arrangement, basic function, and use the appropriate force (approximately 5-7 pounds, which is similar to the force used to pull open a can) to check for attachment fastness.
7) Product packaging inspection
Size ratio check
Check if the quantity of each size (XS, S, M, L, XL, etc.) is the same as that on the order, and check if the proportion of the size (XS%, S%, M%, L%, XL%, etc.) is the same as that on the order.
Color matching
-Check whether the quantity and proportion of colors are consistent with those on the order.
-Check the type, condition, outer diameter and sealing method of the cartons. -Check the type, condition, position, color and content of shipping mark. If the customer requests a warning label, or logo, please verify the presence of such label.
-Check type, condition, color, fitness, closure and size of plastic bags.
-Check type, condition, color and content of plastic bag printing. Check if the plastic bags are printed with a warning label as required.
-Check for copy paper, lining board, blister packaging, desiccant, etc.
2. Matters needing attention for clothing inspection
1) Mandatory labeling requirements for clothing
Compulsory requirements for labeling in different countries
Fabric composition label
Many importing countries, such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, Australia, Japan and other countries have mandatory requirements for fabric composition label.
The composition label of the fabric must clearly indicate the content and percentage of each ingredient (some ingredients less than 5%, can be replaced by "other ingredients". If there are two or more ingredients, they are generally required to be marked on the ingredient label in order of proportion from highest to lowest.
Identification of origin
Many importing countries, such as the United States, Mexico, Canada, Australia, Japan and other countries have mandatory requirements for origin labeling. The origin labeling must be clearly printed on the garment's permanent label. If there is outer packing, the product and the outer packing must be marked with the country of origin

2) Different countries may have different requirements for label washing
American standard washing requirements
It must be clearly printed on the permanent label of the garment.
If it is a suit, it is required that each piece of clothing in the suit should have a washing label.
Washing labels are generally required to have at least four ICONS: Washing, Bleaching, Drying, Ironing.
Requirements of European countries for label washing
Different countries have different requirements. Generally, there are five labels on the Washing label, in the order of Washing, Bleaching, Drying, Ironing, Professional Textile Care, Dry-Clean.
Special requirements for Canadian label washing
Label washing must have at least two languages, English and French.
Japanese standard for label washing in following order
Washing, bleaching, Ironing, dry-clean, Wringing, Drying
3) RN Number - Registration number
US special requirement, if there is no RN number, the name of the manufacturer is also acceptable
4) CA Number -- Canadian CA Number
Canadian special requirements, generally CA # + 5 numbers
5) Tracking Label
Compulsory for children's clothing (children's clothing for 12 years and under) in the United States
3. Rules for Use of Draw Rope or Rope in Children's Wear (American Market -ASTM F 1816-97;European Market - EN 14682)
In American market for 0-14 years old children's clothing, boys/girls' clothing is generally divided by S/M/L/XL size, L size is equivalent to 12 size, XL size is equivalent to 16 size.
1) Size 0-16, head and neck area, do not use drawstring;
2) Size 0-16, waist and hem area:
-When the garment is naturally stretched to its maximum size and laid flat, the length of the exposed rope should not exceed 3 inches (76 MM). Elastic materials should not be used for decorative rope straps. The inner waist adjusting elastic band must be fixed with a sleeve knot to prevent the elastic band from being pulled out.
-The free ends of the rope shall not have knots, or other attachments.
-The rope should be sewn to the garment at least halfway between the two exit points to prevent the rope pull from either end completely.
Minimum pullover neckline pull size
- If the size table provided by the customer has the size of the minimum collar circumference, the actual size shall be followed. Note that the actual size of the collar circumference can only be larger than the allowable tolerance, and if the size is less than the standard size, it shall be included in the exceeding size point.
-If no reference dimensions are available, refer to the following for the minimum size of the collar:
